26.03.2019

As many of you already know, one of the most important factors in designing a house is lighting. You can have a very nice space and design, but if you do not have the necessary light it will not be considered a good project. In The Room Studio we dedicate a lot of effort to achieve the magic that creates the lights, giving visibility to unknown corners or contributing protagonism.

In today’s post, we want you to have it in mind when choosing the pieces for your house. First you must specify the points of light to highlight and the way: using a wall lamp, a table lamp, a standing lamp, a suspended lamp … If your choice is a type of lighting for the wall, read on!

You have to take into account the decoration line that is being used throughout the house. With this type of wall lamps and defined the rest of the products, we can extend the range of colors or break with it. If we have colors that highlight another type of furniture such as a wardrobe, we will look for some options to harmonize the sconces with the context. If you are making use of woods, earth colors or neutral tones, we can include strong and fun tones to give the touch of color.

In addition to the use that will be given to the space, you have to play with the heights of the rest of the elements. You should try to find the balance by playing with pieces that give altitude and prolongation to the area. In a living room with sofas, pouffes and chests of drawers, we can include a wall lamp with more height and that also adapts to the needs of the users. If we look for it as a decorative element for the wall and that provides a touch of light, it will be interesting to place it on a flat wall where the light can create a drawing playing on the surface.

There are different shapes and finishes that can help us fill the space with elegance and sophistication. For a more sober style, we can base ourselves on the choice of pieces in copper or brass with more rounded edges and very thin profiles. In those more rustic we will use more lively and cheerful colors with more daring luminaries and simpler designs. If on the other hand it is a more Nordic style, we can choose aesthetics with organic and sinuous lines in metal and dark matt finishes combining in a very subtle way with the context. All this, as we have said, must be found in accordance with the rest of the elements. We could define the wall sconces as a type of very focused lighting capable of creating collected environments.

We hope you liked it and that you can put it into practice if you are thinking of eliminating some points of light from your homes. We are waiting for you next week!
