This 200 m² apartment, once dark and compartmentalized, becomes a bright and welcoming second residence in the heart of Barcelona.
The new layout begins with a central entrance hall that organizes the home into two clear zones: day and night. On one side, kitchen, living room, and dining area integrate into an open space where light flows naturally. The light island reveals the original ceramic flooring, recovering the Mediterranean character of the place.
On the other side, the resting area brings together three bedrooms designed for comfortable living: the main suite, the child’s room, and a guest bedroom.
The balance between the couple’s personalities defines the atmosphere: a neutral, serene, and bright base where touches of color and texture add vitality without disturbing the calm.
Natural and artificial lighting create versatile atmospheres. Indirect lights highlight the architecture, decorative lamps add warmth, and integrated spotlights provide functionality.
Herringbone parquet brings continuity and elegance to the main areas, while ceramics and porcelain tiles resolve the kitchen and bathrooms with coherence and durability. Custom wooden furniture optimizes every corner and maintains the material unity of the home.
Here, the renovation does not seek to erase what was there.
