Twenty years and more than two hundred projects give us a trained eye for scale. On a deep village lot the real risk is not a wrong finish, it is a house that sits badly on its land. Proportion, orientation and circulation are settled before a single material is chosen.

Most Pinecrest homes are built around family life across generations. We begin by understanding how each one uses the house: which rooms carry the noise, where the grandparents want to sit, how the children move between the garden and the kitchen. Architecture, landscape and interiors then follow that, never a house type.

Village of Pinecrest permitting, large lot zoning and tree preservation are handled by the same people who draw the house. With The Room Work, our own construction arm, nothing is passed to a third party halfway through, and a question raised on site is answered by the studio that designed it.

A Pinecrest house is lived outward: covered terraces, shade, the garden as another room. We design for that continuity, so the plan reads as one idea from the entrance to the far edge of the lot instead of a set of rooms with a pool behind them.
