Decoration according to the house location

23.05.2018

When it comes to decorating our home is important to know about some factors, one of the most important is the location of the house. To begin to choose materials for furniture, textiles and accessories, the context is essential: the type of climate, weather, if it is near the sea or in the center of the city, and more.

In The Room Studio we want to create a coherence between the location and the decoration, discover more about the tastes of the owners and their needs. Design a space according to them that has a place where it is located and able to transmit. It is important to have a dialogue and a connection between the exterior and the interior of the house.

The houses located in the center of the city have, in general, more sober and formal style. It is decided by a choice of materials that transmit solidity and rigidity to the space, making a unique and comforting environment. Neutral walls are combined with other daring colors that give depth to the space; wood panels or other materials are used to create walls, that allow the passage of light between different areas. Add indirect lighting gives us the opportunity to create a warm and intimate environments, that are combined with different pieces of design lighting in the house. Artworks, dark woods, metals, marble, textiles with straight and elegant lines are part of the houses of the city that seek harmony and meaning.

On the other hand, for properties near the sea, we look for a casual style. Pure and Mediterranean spaces where you can relax and enjoy the moments with family and friends. Fun elements, bright and cheerful colors, different shapes and patterns, drawings that make reference to the marine nature and designs that contrast each other, allowing an explosion of creativity. At the time of choosing materials we opted for the light tonalities: wild linens, glass, cotton, light wood and others. We recommend the use of tones that refer to the water and the earth as: blues, yellows and greens colors, can be introduced by tropical and exotic plants with large leaves that give them presence. We choose a simple decoration, where the protagonists are the vibrant accessories that can capture all the attention. Generally are houses very illuminated, we will be able to make use of some floor or table lamps to contribute create small points of light.

To finish with today’s post, we leave you some inspiring images of some of our projects located near or in the middle of the big city. We try to transmit the essence of each of them. We hope you enjoy it!
